🌿 Outdoor Learning in Room 3 – Maths in Motion! 🌿

This week, Room 3 took our maths learning outdoors for a fun and hands-on lesson using loose parts! The fresh air and open space gave everyone the perfect opportunity to explore mathematical thinking in creative ways.

Our Primary 3 learners worked together to create number sequences in 2s, 5s, and 10s, using natural and recycled materials they found around our outdoor classroom. It was wonderful to see them collaborating, problem-solving, and checking their patterns carefully. From sticks and stones to pinecones and leaves, the children used their imaginations to bring their number sequences to life!

Meanwhile, our Primary 4 pupils focused on building arrays to deepen their understanding of multiplication. Using the same loose parts approach, they arranged objects into clear groups and rows, showing excellent understanding of how multiplication works in a visual and practical way.

Everyone demonstrated fantastic teamwork, communication, and resilience, and it was lovely to see how engaged and motivated they were in their learning. The outdoor setting encouraged curiosity and creativity — and reminded us that maths is everywhere, not just in our classroom!

Well done, Room 3 — your enthusiasm for learning truly shines, wherever you are! 🌟
