Always a highlight in the school calendar, today was World Book Day and what a fantastic day we had! Lots of little characters arrived dressed up as their favourite book characters, bringing plenty of colour and excitement to the classroom.
We spent time talking about our favourite characters and why we like them. During literacy, we matched character descriptions to well-known children’s book characters. Some were very familiar, while others had us searching for clues to figure out who they might be!
We also completed a fun quiz guessing the book from the emojis and enjoyed some quiet reading time in different places around the school with books we love.
Some children went down to visit our Sunflower Room to share some books with the boys and girls and to do some book related art 🖼️
The afternoon was rounded off with a Mini Minds session and some ICT, where we worked with images using the Pages app.
