🌼 World Mental Health Day in Room 3 – “We Are Brighter Together!” 🌼
Today, the boys and girls in Room 3 celebrated World Mental Health Day in true Room 3 style — with creativity, teamwork, and plenty of smiles! The theme for this year was “We Are Brighter Together,” and our class took this message to heart as we spent the day learning, reflecting, and creating.
To mark the occasion, we worked collaboratively on a special STEM-inspired project using glow sticks. Each student designed their own glowing creation to represent how, when we come together, we light up each other’s world. It was a wonderful opportunity to explore how science and art can combine to express important ideas about mental health, connection, and community.
Throughout the activity, the children showed amazing teamwork, problem-solving, and resilience. They encouraged one another, shared materials, and celebrated each other’s designs. It was inspiring to see how naturally they supported their classmates — a perfect reminder that caring for one another is at the heart of good mental health.
Adding an extra splash of brightness, many of our girls proudly wore yellow ribbons in their hair, symbolizing hope, happiness, and support for mental health awareness. The classroom was filled with light — both from the glow sticks and from the joy and positivity radiating from the students.
As we reflected on the day, we also talked about what it means to share God’s light in our world. Even in times that feel dark or uncertain, we are called to be kind, caring, and hopeful — to let God’s light shine through us in the way we treat others. The children shared wonderful ideas about how small acts of kindness, encouragement, and friendship can make a big difference.
By the end of the day, everyone agreed that we truly are brighter together. Room 3 left with glowing creations, bright smiles, and hearts full of light — ready to shine God’s love into the world around us. 💛✨
