Ancient Egypt workshop
Today, Room 5 children enjoyed an interactive workshop with Stephanie from Time Steps, learning fascinating facts about Ancient Egypt. They experienced first-hand what an Egyptian pillow looks like, a child's toy and how Egyptians prepared themselves for the afterlife, including having the sacred scarab beetle buried with them as a sign of good luck. The children, already familiar with the mummification process, got to see a real hook that was used to remove the brain through the nose! They also enjoyed looking at and hearing about a variety of other artefacts such as a hieroglyphic scroll and canopic jars.
An amazing session full of facts to further our learning on Ancient Egypt.
