Carmean Aberdeen Angus Farm Visit 🚜🐮🐑🐴
Today our boys and girls in Room 3 took part in the Bank of Ireland Open Farm Weekend schools’ day! We visited Carmean Aberdeen Angus farm and we had such a fantastic time!
Our children were so excited to take part in a range of activities. They loved trying out the quad and tractors, planted their own sunflower seeds in their uniquely crafted pots, played lots of games and so much more!
A highlight of our visit was visiting all the animals. We saw calves, cows, sheep, lambs and ponies. Our boys and girls loved feeding and stroking the animals. John even showed us the shearing of a sheep and was so kind to let us take home some of the wool.
Our boys and girls learned so much about life on a farm. They got to experience some machinery in action, the care given to each animal and the importance of farming in our community.
Many of our boys and girls have some farming background and they were able to share their knowledge and experiences with the farmer today. I think it’s fair to say everybody had a brilliant time of fun and learning.
Thank you so much to John and his family for welcoming us to his farm and to the Bank of Ireland for arranging this event!
A fantastic afternoon had by all 🐮 🐑 🐴 🚜
