Dragons’ Den

10th Jun 2025

To say these children were amazing today would be an understatement!

Today, four groups of 8 children took part in our Dragons Den activity.

Over the past couple of weeks our children were learning about running a mini-enterprise business. They had to decide on their own product to sell and to do this they also had to consider not only what they would sell but how they would sell it. They considered their market, they conducted their research and they priced their products after sourcing from different retailers. Then after working out costings they had to work out a selling price so they could make a profit and then also consider advertising and how they would share their product with others.

The final products decided upon in each group were: Golden Goodies, Sweet Scoops, Brilliant Bags and Dreamland Doughnuts. Within each group, everyone played a vital role whether it was advertising, conducting the surveys, creating the posters or the presentation.

Today our teams pitched to our four dragons- Andy Hammond (Jamie’s dad), Robert Winton (Thomas’s dad), Carrie Caskey (Dolly’s mum) and Miss Glendinning. We had four exceptional Dragons who were very supportive and praised each group for their amazing ideas, team effort and hard work as well as the wonderful samples of their product they’d prepared for them in advance.

A massive thank you to our Dragons for coming in and giving up their time to play this role in class. We really appreciate it and our children loved seeing you in school as well as learning from you and listening to your valuable advice.

While there was only one project chosen, ‘Brilliant Bags,’ every single group deserved credit for their hard work and wonderful ideas as well as presenting so enthusiastically and professionally. We are so proud of you and you should feel very proud of yourselves! An outstanding job!
