Fun with 3D shape

14th May 2026

Room 4 had a fantastic time exploring 3D shapes this week!

We have been learning the names and properties of different 3D shapes and identifying where we can spot them in the world around us. The children then put their knowledge into practice by using straws and Blu Tack to build their own 3D shape models.

We also matched nets to their corresponding shapes before creating our own 3D shapes from nets, designing them to look like everyday products and objects we might encounter.

These fun, hands-on activities helped us develop our understanding of faces, edges and vertices while encouraging creativity, teamwork and problem-solving along the way! βπŸ”ΊπŸŸ¦
