Gortatole Day 2

28th May 2026

Day 2 at Gortatole has been another action-packed adventure! 🌿

After a great night’s sleep, everyone was up bright and early, ready to get the day started. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast of cereal, toast, and tea before heading out for the morning’s activities.

One group explored Boho Cave, having great fun navigating through the darkness, identifying fossils, and even spotting a few spiders and insects along the way. Another group took on archery and bushcraft, channelling their inner Robin Hood as they aimed for the bullseye. In bushcraft, they learned how to stay safe outdoors, built their own fires, and toasted some delicious marshmallows. Meanwhile, the final group challenged themselves on the impressive climbing wall, working hard to reach the top before abseiling back down—an amazing achievement!

After some well-earned free time, everyone enjoyed a tasty lunch of cheese and ham jambons with wedges. The afternoon saw the groups switch activities, with the final group heading to the water for a fun-filled session of kayaking and canoeing—complete with plenty of splashing—while the others took part in climbing, archery, and bushcraft.

Following a lovely chicken dinner, the children took part in group games and team challenges organised by the centre staff, showing great teamwork and enthusiasm. The day finished perfectly with a cosy movie night, complete with pyjamas and snacks.

Another fantastic day had by all! ✨
