Room 1 have been finding out about hedgehogs and how they prepare for winter. In our play children completed some activities including a dice game colouring the number spikes, fine motor skills adding pegs to a hedgehog, making model magic hedgehogs using loose parts for spikes and making 3d hedgehogs using tape, a stapler and glue to join and add spikes. In addition to this they created homes for animals in the sand tray, sorted coins dropped into the pond (water tray) and watered plants discussing the size of pots and problems experienced.Construction remains a favourite choice with lots of discussions about models made and shapes used.
