Moyola Water Treatment Works
11th Jun 2026
This morning, Room 4 enjoyed a fascinating visit to Moyola Water Treatment Works.
We had a really interesting morning learning about where our water comes from and the processes it goes through to make it safe for us to drink. The children loved becoming scientists for the day and were excited to look closely at blue-green algae, which has become very familiar to us over the past few years.
We were also able to carry out some laboratory tests and enjoyed a tour of the treatment plant, where we saw the different stages of the cleaning and filtration process.
It was a very enjoyable and educational experience for everyone.
A huge thank you to NI Water for the kind invitation and for making us feel so welcome!
