Polar Explorers
Room 2 have certainly been busy this term finding out about animals living in very cold lands. From polar bears to penguins we have explored how they survive learning about the insulating property of blubber and the importance of camouflage. Children have had fun making their own snow and demonstrated creativity using pastels and dough. We have practised our numeracy skills measuring the height of penguins and weighed items in the Explorer’s rucksacks. Role play and construction activities provided fun challenges thinking about how humans survive and travel in such cold conditions. We have used Scratch Jr to complete coding activities moving polar bears or penguins across polar landscapes. Lots of facts have been discovered through our play and topic texts and we even created our own digital fact files. Well done everyone. 😀
