Polar Explorers

15th Mar 2024

Room 1 are enjoying finding out about expeditions to the South Pole. In our play we have been making penguins out of dough, feeding them krill and exploring their world.  We have used our weighing skills to help pack a rucksack for an explorer. Children have created shelters and used hammers to break “ice.” They have created their own flags to mark their success reaching the South Pole and used the Antarctic Research Centre. Children used PicCollage to make posters about penguins sharing information. Coding skills were developed using ScratchJr to create an environment for a penguin and a code for movement. What a busy time we have had.😊
