Pre- coding activities

8th Oct 2019

P1 have been learning to follow and give instructions. These are important skills in everyday life. We have been following oral directions and visuals have been introduced to move forwards, backwards and to make turns. In class today we followed directions which asked us to make 2d shapes using lolly sticks and straws. This required lots of thinking. We were introduced to a fun coding activity which involved a square based on 7 rows of 7 coloured cards. Our tasks was to give oral instructions to move a figure to a specific shape. Our friends helped us set out the cards.  This activity will help us when we start to programme beebot to move across a grid or to perform instructions on other coding apps.
