As part of their literacy learning, the pupils in Room 3 took their writing outdoors to explore the seasonal changes of autumn. Using their senses to notice the colours, sounds and textures around them, they gathered a rich collection of adjectives to enhance their descriptive writing. This activity not only developed their vocabulary and understanding of how to create vivid imagery but also linked to their science learning about the natural world and the signs of seasonal change.
During this session we also practised our ICT skills by recording our observations with the iPads, developing our camera techniques. Back in the classroom, we used these images to create digital posters, showcasing both our findings and our creativity.
