Translink Safety Bus
11th Apr 2025
P7 enjoyed a visit from the Translink safety bus where Kevin and Shauna shared a lot of important information regarding bus safety. This included advising pupils how important it was to stay back from the edge of the kerb and never cross in front of, or from behind a bus. He also stressed the importance of not crossing when using mobile phones or wearing headphones as this would impair their ability to hear or see traffic. 👀🚌🚌
Kevin also told the boys and girls about the role of an inspector and the importance of keeping their bus passes safe as they could be checked on their journey. 🕵️♂️
They also learnt how to signal for a bus to stop from both the inside and outside of a bus. ➡️
The importance of behaviour on buses was also stressed and Kevin was able to show the children how cameras work and any incidents dealt with. This was reassuring to know so everyone is safe.
The children really enjoyed this visit and Kevin's humour throughout. Thanks also to Translink for the pencils!
