Our librarians and ambassadors had a wonderful time yesterday visiting Magherafelt Library. Mildred told the boys and girls about how the library was organised into different sections, the different genres of books and how a man named Melville Dewey invented the system for organising and classifying books within a library. The children got to ask questions and shared with Mildred their favourite authors before having a browse.
The visit has definitely given us some food for thought about how to promote authors and reading in a fun way in school.
