What can we see?

10th Nov 2022

Room 1 had fun outdoors looking for some woodland creatures. Children had the opportunity to work individually or with a partner to find a number of animals. They needed great observational skills as the animals were well camouflaged. We named the animals and discussed where we would expect to see them for instance the badger would be on the ground, the owl in a tree and the squirrel either place.  On their hunt, children took turns to record each animal found. The most difficult one to see was the mouse which we eventually discovered below the bird table. The children decided that mouse was there to get the bird seed. I was impressed that they were able to tell me that the mouse would need to take care as the fox and owl were nearby and might be looking for food to eat so mouse could be in danger.
