Room 2 have been busy this term in their play exploring winter here. We have made snowmen, created winter stories using our wooden play house and made vehicles to clear snow. We have developed our fine motor skills making paper snowflakes, stick puppets and created lots of paintings of snowmen, Jack Frost and most recently snowdrops. The children loved our role play experiences initially buying and selling hot chocolate and doughnuts and then practicing our skating skills at the ice rink. Through stories in literacy we were prompted to think about how birds and animals cope with winter conditions here. The children were keen to support birds with food,making bird feeders. After half term we will find out how amazing animals are as they adapt to Arctic conditions.
