World Children’s Day

20th Nov 2020

Room 1 celebrated World Children’s Day with the help of Paddington Bear who sent us a postcard from Cambodia. On the front of the card was an enormous tree growing out of an old temple much bigger than any tree we have seen!!

Paddington told us that UNICEF had helped children there to learn providing teachers who spoke their local language. We couldn’t believe that in a school over 50 different languages might be spoken so children often had no one to talk to or play with and struggled to learn.  Paddington told us about a girl who now loves school as UNICEF has made sure that the teachers in her school speak lots of languages.

We are so glad to have lots of friends in school and opportunities to play and learn. We discussed these rights as we coloured a poster for World Children’s Day and shared how we have been kind and caring to others. We loved our B.L.U.E. Day!!
